A memorial service to celebrate the life of John Daniel “Danny” Downey, 74, will be held at noon on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church, 1301 Mill St., Camden, S.C. Rev. Roy Butler will officiate. Danny died on April 12, 2024, at home after a short illness. Born on March 28, 1950, in Waynesboro, Va., he was the son of the late James Robert (Jack) Downey and Anna Belle Shumate Downey.
