Twanda Geiger-Mickle, a 2nd Grade teacher at North Central Elementary School is the 2024 Kershaw County School District (KCSD) Teacher of the Year. KCSD Superintendent Dr. Harrison Goodwin called out Geiger-Mickle’s name at the end of the district’s annual gala on Thursday evening in Camden High School’s auditorium.

“Our judges had these comments to make about the teacher that was selected as Kershaw County Teacher of the Year: ‘When we entered this classroom, it was clear that it was student-led, a place where students had ownership of their own learning. This teacher’s ability to differentiate lessons and meet the needs of all kids while still making learning fun was impressive,’ ” Goodwin said.
