John Mizell

LUGOFF — A funeral service for John Wesley “Jake, J.W.” Mizell, 88, of Lugoff, S.C., was held on Friday, April 19, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Lugoff First Baptist Church with burial following in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lugoff First Baptist Church.

Mr. Mizell passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2024. Born in Folkston, Ga., he was the son of the late Lonnie Mizell and Aggie Nettles Mizell. John retired from the United States Navy and was a Vietnam Veteran. He worked at the VA Hospital for 28 years. He was a member of Lugoff First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday School Teacher for 33 years.
